Summary of Technology & Construction during the Industrial Revolution& now

In the reading How science and Life Interacted During the American Industrial Revolution compiled by Danny Blas, explains how technology change in the cities and how we lived in the United States because of technology they were able to expand building upward and outward. Since technology started advancing it was helpful to the U.S. by giving them them their needs like transportion and space.
Technology also change how people moved around. Americans started started using trolley cars. The trolley cars would travel from neighborhoods to downtown office and to departments stores. Thanks to the trolley cars it was easier for the Americans to move around.
In the article The Passive House: Sealed For Freshness by Sandy Keenan, she explains the difference between a passive house and a traditional house. She describes a passive house as a environmentally responsible house without the traditional housing heating and air conditioning system. The passive house is a low energy building.
An arguments against passive houses are that it's expensive. Passive housing would cost $300,000-$500,000 average. Also it would take a decade or more for the energy saving.
Another thing technology change was the way we read and learned. By inventing newspaper printing it was easier and cheaper for people to know what was happening. Also it was affordable for everyone to get.
Technology has change through out the time making life easier for everyone. It change how Americans lived in the past by making better building, easier transportion, and a easier way to live. Technology also change how we live today by making easier transportion, inventing new building, building new machines to make materials we need and more.
